LSU Closing at 3 p.m. Today

Wednesday, October 27, 2021; 2:05 p.m.

Dear LSU Community,

LSU will close at 3 p.m. today, Wednesday, Oct. 27, due to the forecast for severe weather and heavy rain this evening. All classes and activities scheduled for 3 p.m. or later are cancelled. Any classes that are still in progress at 3 p.m. should end at that time.

Students and employees are encouraged to go home at 3 p.m. to avoid any flash flooding, and to stay off the roads this evening. If you must drive, please use caution and watch for flooded streets. Stanford Ave. near the campus lake and Burbank Dr. near Walk-Ons tend to flash flood, as well as other campus streets and parking lots.

On-campus residence halls and apartments will remain open, and on-campus residents should check their email for instructions from Residential Life on possibly moving their vehicles to higher ground. Please check the LSU Dining website for any updates regarding dining hall hours.

LSU plans to be open as usual on Thursday, Oct. 28.

Please watch your LSU email account, the LSU homepage, LSU’s official social media channels, and LSU emergency text messaging for any updates.
