Swipe Out Hunger with LSU Dining
01/29/2021
BATON ROUGE – LSU Auxiliary Services and LSU Dining are excited to introduce Swipe
Out Hunger, a pilot program created to help combat food insecurities on the LSU campus.
Between Saturday, Jan. 30, and Friday, Feb. 5, LSU students with a meal plan will have the opportunity to donate meal swipes to the Swipe Out Hunger program. As students swipe into the dining hall, an LSU Dining employee will ask if they are interested in donating one swipe per meal period to the program. This will be available at The Club, 459, and The 5 dining halls.
“This was an idea brought to us by LSU Student Government, and we immediately began working with representatives from LSU Dining and LSU Student Affairs on creating a pilot program to help meet the needs of LSU students,” said Margot Carroll, Assistant Vice President of LSU Auxiliary Services. “Our hope is that we see a lot of interest in this pilot program and from it develop a strong, long-lasting opportunity for LSU students to both give and receive.”
Students interested in redeeming meals through the program need to complete the Swipe for Hunger form located on TigerLink. After applications are reviewed and accepted, participants will receive notification that meals have been uploaded on their Tiger Card.
