LSU Announces Peter Trentacoste as New Executive Director of Residential Life

BATON ROUGE – LSU is proud to announce and welcome Peter Trentacoste as the university’s new executive director of Residential Life. Trentacoste, who currently serves as Executive Director of Housing & Residence Life at Ohio University, will provide strategic leadership for programs, services, operations, and spaces that enhance the LSU residential student experience.

“During his career, Peter has built an impressive record of financial stewardship, capital planning, and student success,” said Jeremiah Shinn, LSU Vice President for Student Affairs. “LSU is fortunate to add a professional of his caliber to a very solid Residential Life team.”

Trentacoste’s more than 11 years’ experience leading residential life units will enable him to fulfill key responsibilities including: serving as LSU’s senior residential life and housing officer, leading the residential life team and managing a housing inventory of 8,800 beds across 22 residence halls, four apartment complexes, and three fraternity/sorority houses, comprising a total of 3.2 million square feet.

“I am truly humbled by the opportunity to join such an outstanding and established residential institution that provides an exemplary education to its students,” Trentacoste said. “I am excited to serve alongside talented and dedicated higher education professionals as we collectively work to ensure that all students feel at home at LSU.”

Trentacoste received his bachelor’s degree from Bloomsburg University and his master’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is expected to begin as LSU executive director of Residential Life on March 1, pending approval by the LSU Board of Supervisors.
