BATON ROUGE – The LSU Police Department is seeking accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies, or CALEA. The team of national assessors from CALEA will start holding phone-in question and answer sessions as virtual meetings with employees and members of the LSU community on July 13 to examine all aspects of the department’s policy and procedures, management, operations and support services. The department seeks to become the first public university, and one of only a few CALEA-accredited law enforcement agencies in the state.

LSU employees and community members are invited to offer comments by calling 225-578-2239 on Monday, July 13 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Comments will be taken by the Assessment Team.

LSU employees and community members are also invited to attend a public information session on Tuesday, July 14 at 11:00 a.m. The session will be conducted virtually through Zoom Meetings. To access this session you may use the link https://lsu.zoom.us or call in by dialing 301-715-8592 or 312-626-6799.
