The Louisiana Business & Technology Center at LSU Innovation Park Celebrates the Success of Companies It Helped Launch

01/30/2020
BATON ROUGE – LSU Innovation Park hosted an alumni reunion on Thursday, Jan. 16, to celebrate the success of current and past tenants. Three companies received awards: Aquaculture Systems Technologies, or AST; Louisiana Multifunctional Materials Group, or LAMG; and Revibe. They won Graduate Company of the Year, Tenant of the Year, and Student Incubator Company of the Year, respectively.

AST specializes in the production and sale of water filters that employ floating bead filters as media. AST started as a tenant at LSU Innovation Park and is now operating from a 32,000-square-foot production facility in downtown Baton Rouge, La.

LAMG, a current tenant of LSU Innovation Park, creates sealants for cracks in road and bridge joints. These sealants were developed to counteract the thermal movements of structural elements of infrastructure.

Revibe is a music technology company building a platform that gives independent artists the tools to successfully monetize their music. It is also creating a state-of-the-art streaming application that allows users to listen to Spotify, YouTube and Revibe’s libraries without switching apps.

Following the award ceremony, former Louisiana Business & Technology Center Executive Director Charlie D’Agostino was inducted into its Hall of Fame. D’Agostino founded the Louisiana Business & Technology Center, or LBTC, in 1988 and served as executive director for 30 years.

“Charlie provided the inspiration, vision, and leadership necessary to make LSU Innovation Park one of the most successful small business economic development programs in the nation,” LSU Innovation Park Executive Director David Winwood said.

LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business student Jenny Zhang received the Graduate Assistant of the Year award. Zhang has worked at LSU Innovation Park for two years and will graduate from LSU’s MBA program in spring 2020.

LBTC has offered specialized business assistance to help companies formulate and further their ideas since 1988. It has resided at LSU Innovation Park since 2005.
