Geaux Big Baton Rouge Seeks Job Sites

“Callin’ Baton Rouge” for service sites to participate in LSU’s largest day of service

Geaux Big01/21/2020
BATON ROUGE – With spring around the corner, Geaux Big Baton Rouge is currently looking for job sites and projects that give LSU students the opportunity to serve the local Baton Rouge community.

Since Geaux Big began in 2013, students have worked on a wide range of projects ranging from beautification and clean-ups to spending time with senior citizens. In 2019, students assisted with lawn work, cleaned and organized indoor spaces and moved and assembled furniture for various private residences, churches, non-profit organizations, schools and community groups. They helped BREC plant trees, sorted and repackaged food for the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank and rebuilt garden boxes for Front Yard Bikes.

Held in the spring, Geaux Big Baton Rouge is LSU’s largest single day of service in the Baton Rouge community. Students have the unique opportunity to work directly alongside community members to provide impactful service in a fun, inclusive and collaborative celebration of service that encourages campus-wide participation. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, April 4, throughout the city and is organized and led by student leaders under the guidance of LSU Campus Life.
