Strecker studies representations of consciousness in American fiction of the 20th and 21st centuries. His current work centers on perception, memory, and narrative in the novels of Joseph McElroy. He also edits NINE: A Journal of Baseball History & Culture. Before coming to LSU in 2015, he taught English and coordinated the interdepartmental minor in sport studies at Ball State University.
