Dr. LeBlanc is from Lafayette, Louisiana. She earned her PhD in Linguistics in 2010, with a focus on virtual community building through language use. Her research interests include pragmatics of discourse communities, applied linguistics of second language acquisition, and language and culture. She has taught a variety of courses at LSU and community college including cultural anthropology, language and culture, discourse analysis, dialects of English, women's and gender studies, and spoken and written English for international students. She is fluent in French, and now resides in Lafayette with her partner and three children.
