Institutional Review Board & Human Subjects Training

All research projects, including theses, dissertations, and projects completed as part of a class assignment, must be submitted and approved by LSU’s Institutional Review Board (IRB) prior to the solicitation and collection of data. Directions and an electronic copy of the IRB application can be accessed through LSU’s IRB web page. The current Chairman of the Board is Dr. Alex Cohen. The IRB office can be reached in the following ways.
Email: irb@lsu.edu

All investigators (faculty, students, affiliates) who work on a research project affiliated with LSU must also show documentation of completion of a web-based human subjects training program. This training program has been created by the National Institutes of Health. It can be accessed through LSU’s IRB web page. Upon completion of the web-based program, investigators should print and save a copy of their training certificate.
