LSU Engineering Makes Move in Latest USNWR Online Rankings

BATON ROUGE, LA – In the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings of the 2023 Best Online Programs, the LSU College of Engineering ranked highly in three categories.

Overall, the college was ranked T-31 for Best Online Master’s in Engineering Program, tied with Washington State University and Worcester Polytechnic Institute. That rank is up six spots from last year. Among public institutions, the college was ranked T-24. Included in the ranking, the publication gave special attention to the college’s online master’s programs in civil engineering, construction management, and industrial engineering. It also gave the college high marks for engagement (91), faculty credentials and training (86), and service and technologies (75) out of 100.

Additionally, the LSU Civil Engineering program was ranked T-10 (No. 9 among public institutions) with Columbia University for Best Online Master’s in Civil Engineering Programs.

Finally, the college was ranked No. 22 in the country for Best Online Master’s in Engineering Programs for veterans. These programs are the best that help reduce the cost of school for veterans.

U.S. News & World Report’s ranking methodology was based on the following “key online graduate engineering data”—engagement, 25%; expert opinion, 25%; faculty credentials and training, 25%; services and technology, 12.5%; and student excellence, 12.5%.
