Khonsari Honored With NLGI Award

BATON ROUGE, LA – LSU Mechanical Engineering Professor Michael Khonsari is this year’s recipient of the National Lubricating Grease Institute’s Clarence E. Earle Memorial Award, which is given in recognition of outstanding contribution to the technical literature relating to lubricating greases during the year.

NLGI Awards recognize those who, “through their farsightedness, enterprise and innovation, pioneered significant and lasting improvements within the industry.”

Khonsari earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. He holds the Dow Chemical Endowed Chair and Professor of Mechanical Engineering at LSU. He is also editor-in-chief of the Journal of Tribology published by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and has published three technical books in applied tribology, bearings instability, and mechanical fatigue, as well as nearly 400 technical papers.

In addition, Khonsari is a Fellow of ASME, STLE, AAAS, and a senior member of the National Academy of Inventors.
