Founder
Dr. Houman Bedayat Dr. Houman Bedayat Houman earned his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Sharif University.
In 2007, he joined to Geotechnical Engineering program in Sharif University as a Master's student.
He worked as a Project Control Manager Structural Designer and Cost Estimation Engineer in an oil and gas service company which was a great motivation for him to continue his education in petroleum engineering industry.
Houman moved to Baton Rouge to purse a Ph.D. degree in Petroleum Engineering at the Craft & Hawkins Department of Petroleum Engineering at Louisiana State University. He graduated with the Ph.D. degree in Petroleum Engineering (and minor in Mathematics) in December 2014. Houman is the founder of the ARMA Student Chapter at LSU.
More information is available on his personal webpage.
President
Milad Ahmadi Milad Ahmadi Milad is a Ph.D. candidate in the Craft & Hawkins Department of Petroleum Engineering at Louisiana State University where his research includes using finite element method to solve coupled multiphysics problems for subsurface energy extraction. He earned his B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tehran in 2008. Milad received his M.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering in 2011.
Vice-President
Denis Klimenko Denis Klimenko Denis earned his B.Sc. degree in Applied Mathematics and Physics and his M.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (Phystech).
His B.Sc. thesis was about coupling gas dynamics equations on boundaries with different dimesions.
His M.Sc. thesis was about development and implementation of an integrated oil field model.
Currently, Denis is a Ph.D. candidate in the Craft & Hawkins Department of Petroleum Engineering at Louisiana State University. His Ph.D. research is modeling hydraulic fractures propagation.
Treasurer
Hope Asala Hope Asala Hope obtained his B.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering in 2008 from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. He went on to get his M.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Houston, Texas in 2011. Hope worked in South Texas for Baker Hughes Inc. as a Frac Stimulation Engineer for over 3 years. Currently, he is a Ph.D. candidate in the Craft & Hawkins Department of Petroleum Engineering at Louisiana State University with a research focus in hydraulic refracturing.
Secretary
Kian Sheikhrezaei Kian Sheikhrezaei Kian earned his B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology. He is a Ph.D. candidate in the Craft & Hawkins Department of Petroleum Engineering at Louisiana State University. Kian is doing experimental research in drill bit and rock interactions.
Communications Officer
Miguel Gonzalez-Chavez Miguel Gonzalez-Chavez Miguel earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering from National University Autonomous of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City. Since 2005 he works for PEMEX, which is a Mexican Oil Company in Mexico, as a reservoir engineer focusing on tight formations' reservoirs. Currently, Miguel is a Ph.D. candidate in the Craft & Hawkins department of Petroleum Engineering at Louisiana State University where his research is related to hydraulic fracture treatments in heterogeneous reservoirs.
