LSU food science club visits manufacturing plant, learns about food production and practices

The Food Science Club toured Diversified Foods and Seasonings company in Madisonville, LA last Friday, February 27. About twenty undergraduate and graduate food science students and the club advisor, Dr. Joan King, joined the tour. Melody Bennett Anderson, Director of Food Technology set up the tour for the club in cooperation with graduate student and President of the Food Science Club, Neelam Sharma. A food science and technology area alumni of the School of Nutrition and Food Sciences, Maria Brasher, has worked there for the past seven years as a Food Science Process Manager.
