(02/08/22) BATON ROUGE, La. — The LSU College of Agriculture has a week full of activities planned for National Ag Week to showcase how agriculture makes an impact in Louisiana and across the world.

National Ag Week 2022 is from March 21 to 25. LSU students, alumni, faculty and staff are invited to participate in the events in person at LSU’s campus during that week.

The events focus on raising the profile of Louisiana agriculture through creating awareness of agricultural practices, community service and careers in agriculture.

LSU alumni can participate in the Meals for Hope service project, undergraduate research, networking sessions and the alumni speaker series.

In addition to those events, students, staff and faculty can also participate in a Hill Farm Teaching Facility workshop, a thank-a-farmer card writing session and a community dinner and awards ceremony.

“We are excited to be able to host our students across campus back in person for the Ag Week activities,” said Amanda Martin, LSU College of Agriculture assistant dean. “Through these events organized by our Agriculture Student Association, we can share the impact that agriculture makes with our greater campus community.”

“Our group is very much looking forward to the service project day where we will package 10,000 meals that will be donated to the LSU Food Pantry and the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank,” said Martin. “Developing a commitment to service and bettering our communities is a mindset we want to develop in each and every LSU College of Agriculture student.”
