Heidi Marshall is a natural resource ecology and management wildlife major. Marshall is studying drought tolerance in bottomland forests by measuring cuticular conductance in 20 different plant species. She is working under the direction of Brett Wolfe, a assistant professor in the School of Renewable Natural Resources.

Marshall said that undergrad research has greatly improved her resume and given her more of a competitive edge. Marshall’s advice to students interested in research is to email your professor from your favorite classes that talk about topics that you are interested in and see if they have any opportunities or know of anyone with any opportunities.
