About the Center

The Psychological Services Center (PSC) is an on-campus unit of the LSU Department of Psychology that offers testing and outpatient psychotherapy services for adults, adolescents, and children.  Located at 33 Johnston Hall, we serve both LSU students and people from the surrounding Baton Rouge community while providing graduate student training and conducting research in clinical and school psychology.

The center is open to anyone in the area, and fees for services are based on a sliding scale (fees are set based on patients’ income and ability to pay).

We are equipped to assess and treat a wide variety of psychological and emotional difficulties, such as depression, anxiety, ADHD and some types of substance abuse.  Clients are seen by Clinical and School Psychology graduate students who are directly supervised by LSU Psychology Department faculty.

In addition, we offer a variety of innovative research projects (often allowing those who participate free services or further reduced fees).

Commitment To Diversity

We value and respect the differences and similarities among people, and are sensitive to the multiple identities of clients, families, and communities with whom we work. We strive to facilitate healing and inclusiveness and do not discriminate on the basis of race or ethnicity, gender or gender identity, sexual orientation, culture, age, disability, religion, or socioeconomic status. Further, our commitment to diversity is also reflected in our ongoing training and efforts to increase awareness in those providing services through required coursework, instruction, continuing education, and licensed supervision.
