Area of research

My research is primarily focused on the detection and identification of sweetpotato viruses, particularly Sweet potato leaf curl virus (SPLCV), a whitefly-transmitted geminivirus. Since SPLCV could become an important constraint for sweetpotato production; diagnosis, identification, and characterization are essential for the development of appropriate control measures to this virus.
