Area of Research:

Burkholderia glumae, the major causal agent of Bacterial panicle blight (BPB), leads to great yield loss in rice. It is known that Quorum Sensing(QS) systems play a key role in regulating virulence factors of B. glumae such as toxoflavin, flagella, catalase and lipase. My current research interests are focused on gaining a better understanding of gene regulation within the QS systems, and trying to identify novel QS-dependent and QS-independent regulatory genes for full virulence of B. Glumae.
