Professional Experience
Research Contribution:
First identified Southern soybean stem canker in Louisiana,
along with N. L. Horn, H. K. Whitam, and J. P. Snow.
Through collaborative efforts with other scientists (J. P.
Snow, H. K. Whitam, and B. G. Harville) identified soybean
cultivars most resistant to southern stem canker.
Identified soybean cultivars most resistant to red crown rot
(in collaboration with D. K. Berner, B. G. Harville, and J.
P. Snow).
With J. P. Snow and B. Lalitha, (Graduate Assistant)
identified a toxin produced by the stem canker fungus.
Results of fungicides screening research demonstrated the
utilization of single application of materials for control
of foliar, pod and stem diseases, and the control of soybean
aerial blight. This contributed significantly to the
labeling of two materials for the management of diseases.
