Provide leadership and direction to the accelerator group in all aspects of operation, maintenance, and reliability of the CAMD accelerators(linac and storage ring) and control systems; develop and implement new ideas and diagnostics to optimize the CAMD storage ring for near-term and long-term user requirements; direct machine physics planning for a third insertion device; develop acelerator plans for the long-range future of CAMD, help write proposals to secure the necessary support for the realization of new plans; present reports of CAMD activities at national and international conferences. Master's degree in an area related to accelerator physics and ten years of experience or Ph.D. in an area related to accelerator physics and five years of experience; direct experience in the operation of electron accelerators for the production of synchrotron radiation; must be familiar with the main components of a storage ring system (RF, control systems, linac, etc.) and their integration; general familiarity in the design and operation of insertion devices; demonstrated leadership skills in managing a technical group; and sufficient administrative experience to provide input to the CAMD Director and Scientific Director of planning and budgetary matters.
