Project Goals and Objectives

The primary goal of the LSU Workday Student Deployment Program is to successfully deploy the Workday Student Solution for the following degree-granting LSU institutions: Louisiana State University and A&M College (LSU A&M), LSU of Alexandria (LSUA), LSU Eunice (LSUE), and LSU Shreveport (LSUS). Additionally, the program will coordinate the efforts of dependent projects and activities to ensure the overall program goals are realized. In doing so, the University seeks to attain the following goals:

Modernized Student System with Supporting Solutions

A modernized student system and suite of solutions to support LSU students' achievement of academic and learning objectives; promote a coordinated, success oriented, and data-driven approach to student service; and seamlessly enable transformative engagement among students, faculty, staff, and administrators.

Configurable, Streamlined Business Processes

A robust collection of configurable, streamlined business processes aligned to leading industry practices that drive consistency and operational excellence across the LSU Community and deliver agility when responding to institutional, regulatory, or other micro/macro environmental factors that induce change to the institution.

Sustainable

A sustainable solution requiring neither expensive infrastructure nor expensive, complex upgrades. LSU has determined that a unified, single version, multi-tenant software-as-a-service as defined by Gartner is the best path forward for enterprise systems replacement.

Single and Unified

A single, unified solution across all business functions. LSU understands first-hand (i.e., existing systems are Unified) and quite clearly the benefits of this strategy and intends to continue it moving forward.

Modern Student Solution

A modern student solution that positions LSU to take advantage of emerging technologies and meets the expectations of stakeholders teaching, learning, living, and managing in a twenty-first century world. (e.g., designed for the cloud, global, natively mobile, configurable, collaborative, workflow-driven, data-rich, and accessible from the user’s device of choice).

Secure

A secure solution that safeguards LSU information, protects the privacy of LSU citizens, and ensures compliance with security-oriented laws, auditing programs, and the highest industry standards (e.g., US-EU Safe Harbor, ISO 27001, and current SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports under the SSAE16 standard). LSU understands the importance of information privacy and acknowledges its role in ensuring compliance to higher education standards such as FERPA and GLBA.

Comprehensive

A solution that facilitates a comprehensive multi-institutional deployment with a timely, yet collaborative, implementation approach.
