Veterinary students paint and donate Homes for Hounds
BATON ROUGE--On August 22 from 1 to 5 p.m., teams of LSU School of Veterinary Medicine (LSU SVM) faculty, staff and students assembled and painted dog houses to be donated to local shelters and rescue organizations. This is the third year in a row that LSU SVM has hosted this event. Approximately 120 people participated this year.
Twenty teams of four students, intern or residents competed to assemble, design and paint the most creative doghouses, with the top three teams receiving a prize donated by the LSU SVM Bookstore. The top three dog houses will be auctioned at the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine's Fall Family Picnic this fall. Proceeds from the auction will go toward a Nestlé Purina scholarship for an LSU SVM student.
First place went to Team Harry Pupper: Catherine Breland (2016), Erin Olson (2016), Jim Chaffin and Sara Roy (2016)
Second place went to Team Star Wars: Holly Lamb (2018), Amanda Wolff (2018) and Grady Balin
Third place went to Team Café du Mon Chein: Kelsie Stovall, Hannah Ghindea, Kelsey Koeing and Kelsey Bailey - All from the class of 2018
