Research Interest

Our research is focused on the molecular mechanisms controlling stem cell differentiation and pancreatic islet hormone secretion. Another area of interest is spermcellactivation and motility. For these studies,we utilize electrophysiologyandreal-time fluorescence imaging analysis in combination with molecular biology to understand the role of ion channels and intracellular calcium signaling in physiological processes and diseases.

Teaching Interest

My main areas of teaching expertise are physiology, stem cell biology and signal transduction. My primary teaching involves first year veterinary students, but I also teach in the certificate and graduate programs. 

Clinical Interest

Diabetes mellitus, tissue regenerationand infertility.
