Research Interest

My research focus is on canine stifle and elbow.

I am interested in biomechanics and kinematics of canine stifle and different surgical techniques used for stabilization of cranial cruciate ligament deficient stifle. Concurrent meniscal tears are very common in dogs with CCL disease. I am also looking at different approaches and techniques and their accuracy at diagnosing meniscal tears in dogs. One of my long-term goals is to establish a canine meniscal tissue bank at Louisiana State University for meniscal transplant in dogs.

I am also interested in evaluating new and minimally invasive techniques for elbow arthritis in dogs including safety and efficacy of 117m Sn colloid (radioactive colloid) for treatment of canine osteoarthritis. Additionally, I am also involved in 3-D printing research projects.

My clinical interests are orthopedic surgery, stifle stabilization surgeries, total joint replacement, fracture repair, arthroscopy, intra-articular joint therapies and minimally invasive orthopedic surgery. I am also interested in soft tissue surgery, thoracic surgery, minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopy), neurosurgery and reconstructive surgery.
