Cultural Competency, Diversity and Inclusivity: An imperative for success in our multicultural society

The purpose of this event is to educate, encourage and inspire attendees to reflect on attitudes about cultural competency, diversity and inclusivity and how they affect our daily lives in and outside of the institutions we learn work, and strive to succeed in.
Day two will focus on the positive side of taking on debt to further your education and how to become empowered.

Registration is required. Deadline is Friday, September 4.

3.5 Hours of approved CE credit for veterinarians.

  • 9:30-10:30 a.m. Learning to recruit diverse students, faculty and staff
  • 11-11:45 a.m. Book Signing with Dr. Patti Rose

September 12: Forgiveness for Your Student Loans - A Survival Guide

Location: LSU SVM Auditorium

  • 9-9:45 a.m. FORCE (Focus, Organization, Readiness, Control and Empowerment)
  • 10-10:45 a.m. Student loan repayment and how to avoid default
  • 11:00-12:00 p.m. Student Panel with Q & A and Lunch
  • Goals: Learn to deal with the burden of student loans
  • Feel better about yourself, your family and your profession as well as the financial worries of obtaining an education
  • Learn to feel OK about having a loan
  • Learn to take control of the process of loans and avoiding default
