Nestled in the beautiful Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts, we are a fast-paced, open admission adoption center that takes in 6,000 animals each year. We are looking for the perfect people to join our veterinary team!

Dakin is looking to add to our staff of veterinarians. We have a variety of positions open and we are sure there is something for everyone. Are you a Spay/Neuter Ninja, a Vaccine Clinic Rockstar, or do you prefer Shelter or Community Medicine? Excellent compensation for the right candidate. Flexibility in scheduling (full-time, part-time, and per diem opportunities are available), generous paid time off as well as paid continuing education days and reimbursement for professional memberships, and required licensing/insurance. You may also qualify for student loan forgiveness under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. As a full-time employee, you will receive extremely generous PTO (like 37 days in your second year of full-time employment, 42 days in your third year)!

Job Description

Externship Positions Available.

New England Animal Medical Center offers 1-2 week externships for 3rd or 4th year veterinary students. Externs may rotate through Emergency & Critical Care, Surgery or General Practice depending on their interests and goals. We provide a hands on experience and encourage direct client and patient interaction. Externs are invited to attend morning rounds and afternoon didactic rounds. The externship experience is designed to provide students with varied, hands on clinical experience at a busy private practice and also to introduce potential internship candidates to our hospital and services. 

New England Animal Medical Center is a 24 hour emergency & referral practice convenient to Boston, Providence and Cape Cod. We have specialists in Emergency & Critical Care, Surgery and Consulting specialists in Internal Medicine, Radiology, and Cardiology. We also house a busy 5 doctor general practice. We have demonstrated a longstanding commitment to clinical teaching of students, interns, residents and staff and take pride in our family friendly environment. We have an established rotating internship program as well as residency programs in Emergency & Critical Care and Surgery.
