Michelle Woodward, DVM, MS, DACVD
Dr. Michelle Woodward received her veterinary degree from University of Tennessee in 2009. She completed an internship in equine surgery and medicine in 2010 and a dermatology residency in 2014, both at Louisiana State University. She is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology. Dr. Woodward worked in private practice before returning to LSU as an Assistant Professor in 2016. She has a strong interest in small animal allergic disease and equine dermatology.
Cherie Pucheu-Haston, DVM (LSU SVM 1992), PhD, DACVD
Dr. Cherie Pucheu-Haston is a veterinary dermatologist and a faculty member at LSU in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences. Her veterinary degree (1992) and internship training (1993) were completed at LSU. She completed residency training in veterinary dermatology at North Carolina State University and achieved board certification in Veterinary Dermatology in 1995. After working as a specialist in private practice for seven years, she earned a PhD in Immunology (minor Biotechnology) from NCSU in 2006. After serving as a postdoctoral research associate in the Immunotoxicology Branch of the United States Environmental Protection Agency, Dr. Pucheu-Haston returned to LSU in 2011 as a faculty member.
Sandra Merchant, DVM, DACVD
Dr. Sandra Merchant is a veterinary dermatologist with a distinguished career as a professor at LSU in the department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences. She joined the faculty in July 1988. She received her BS from Florida State University in 1979 and her DVM from the University of Florida in 1984. She is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology.
Mollie Mesman, DVM (LSU SVM 2012), DACVD
Dr. Mollie Mesman earned both her bachelor degree and doctorate of veterinary medicine from Louisiana State University in 2007 and 2012, respectively. After graduating, she completed a small animal rotating internship at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Mesman then went on to complete her dermatology residency with the Animal Dermatology Clinic in Marina del Rey, California, from 2013-2016. She obtained Diplomate status with the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD) in November 2016. Dr. Mesman and her family relocated back to Baton Rouge to start the dermatology service at Baton Rouge Veterinary Specialists.
Sara Joyner Ramos, DVM (LSU SVM 2015)
Dr. Sara Ramos received her DVM from Louisiana State University in 2015. She completed a rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at the University of Georgia in 2016. She completed her dermatology internship at LSU in 2017 and is currently a dermatology resident at LSU.
