The Lewin Lab

Innovative Eye Research

The Lewin Lab is located at the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine (LSU SVM) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The team performs novel research into a variety of important eye diseases in both animals and humans, with a focus on infectious ocular disease and clinical ophthalmology.

The group predominantly utilizes the services and facilities of the LSU SVM Veterinary Clinical Sciences (VCS) laboratory, a 2000 sq. ft. space with a wide selection of scientific equipment, cell culture facilities and highly trained personnel. In addition, the LSU GeneLab is utilized for sequencing and PCR-based experiments when necessary. We also work with a wide variety of collaborators at LSU SVM, other academic institutions, LSU Health New Orleans and the LSU Center for Computation and Technology.
