UCAC Enrollment Options
Students may be enrolled in one of the following categories while in UCAC.
Students who were enrolled in the Center for Freshman Year (UCFY, but are no longer freshmen, and do not yet meet the requirements for their intended senior college will be enrolled under this status. The student’s enrollment coding will appear as (PAGRI, PBADM, PHSS, etc), but will have a declared major and are considered degree seeking. Pre-degree students are permitted four regular (fall/spring) semesters of enrollment to meet the admission requirements for their senior college.
Students who have been previously enrolled in an LSU senior college, but have decided to change majors and do not meet the admission criteria for the new senior college, can petition to gain entry into UCAC for two semesters as an RADM student. Submission of a petition for admission to UCAC as a Restricted Admit (RADM) student are not guaranteed approval. Students can request an official petition form in UCAC, 150 Himes Hall or firstname.lastname@example.org. The University College appeal committee will review the student’s petition to determine if the admission requirements of the new senior college can be realistically met within the time allotment. Senior colleges may be consulted when petitions are considered. See Appeals/Petitions for more information on the process to petition for admission to UCAC as a Restricted Admit student.
Allied Health, Pre-Public Health, Pre-Pharmacy, or Pre-Nursing students who are not pursuing an undergraduate degree at LSU and have the potential to pursue one of the pre-professional undergraduate programs at the Health Sciences Center in New Orleans or Shreveport may be enrolled in UCAC under the pre-professional coding options.
