Mill Creek Reservoir to Undergo Drawdown
Posted: 7/3/07

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) has received a request from the Mill Creek Lake Commission to conduct a drawdown on Mill Creel Reservoir in Bienville Parish. The request was approved and LDWF plans to lower the lake beginning Sept. 4.

This drawdown is for shoreline maintenance and erosion control by property owners on the 580 acre reservoir.

The lake will be lowered approximately 4-to-6 inches per day until it reaches the target goal of 7 feet below normal pool stage. The lake will be held at this level until Jan. 15, 2008 at which time the water control gate will be closed and the lake allowed to refill.
