Public Comment Notice

The Louisiana Invasive Species Task Force, chaired by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, seeks public comment on the State Management Plan for Aquatic Invasive Species in Louisiana. Comments are due in writing on or before January 21, 2005.

Invasive species are non-native plants, animals and microorganisms likely to cause adverse environmental, economic and/or human health impacts.

The Task Force has determined that invasive species pose a serious threat to the economic and ecological health of Louisiana. This draft management plan describes the nature and extent of this potential threat and proposes specific actions toward addressing it.
