Job Description:
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher position in the Li lab in the
Department of Biological Sciences and the Center of Computation & Technology at Louisiana
State University. The successful candidate will conduct research in the broad area
of community ecology, potential projects include, but not limited to, effects of environmental
changes (e.g. climate change, urbanization) on biodiversity and functional traits
such as plant phenology, ecological modeling and statistics for ecological analyses,
data-driven synthesis, etc. The candidate hired will have the freedom to develop projects
of their interest.
Job Duties:
Conduct research, disseminate research results by attending conferences, publish research
results in peer-review journals, develop and write grant proposals. (100%)
Minimum qualifications:
Ph.D. in ecology, biology, statistics, mathematics, or closely related fields.
Special or Physical Qualifications needed:
Desired skills include a solid working knowledge of ecology and statistics (e.g. hierarchical modeling), strong programming skills (R, Julia, Python, etc.), and good communication skills (verbal and writing).
