[23 Sept 2022] The United States Department of Agriculture-Forest Service recently awarded Dr. Bret Collier a 1.2 million dollar grant for a multi-year evaluation of forest restoration post-Hurricane Laura and the resultant impacts on wild turkeys in west-central Louisiana.

Dr. Collier, a professor in the School of Renewable Natural Resources at Louisiana State University, with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and the United States Department of Agriculture-Forest Service, has been collaborating on wild turkey conservation and management in west-central Louisiana since 2014.
