Summer Community Desk Assistant

Summer desk assistants are the front-line customer service staff for the department’s Summer School and Summer Conference operations. Desk assistants help in servicing the needs of summer school students and summer conference guests housed in LSU’s residence halls and apartments, including manning a front desk, handling keys, submitting work orders, and serving as a resource for students and guests. 

Student Computer Technician

If you carry a basic customer support skillset, are seeking an ISDS or CS degree (not required), or you are interested in working in the Information Technology field, you can gain hands-on practical work experience in this position in the areas of PC troubleshooting, hardware/software installation, and network support. 

 

Business Office Assistant

The Residential Life Business Office’s student worker provides support to staff and business activities through the year. He/she is detailed oriented, completes tasks in a timely manner, and remains actively engaged in the daily activities of the office. The student worker will have frequent contact with student files and other confidential information.  

 

Summer Grace King Front Desk Assistant

The Residential Life office's main front desk is located in Grace King Hall and is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Front Desk Assistants work at the desks as customer-service agents and first point-of-contact for visitors. The Front Desk Assistant also answers the phone and directs calls throughout the department.

Summer Tour Guide

Residential Life tour guides are a key part of the recruitment team in Residential Life. Tour guides lead daily tours of the residence halls to more than 12,000 guests each year and also work recruitment events to help students and families see the value in living on campus. If you are outgoing, can think on your feet, and enjoy talking to people, being a tour guide may be right for you!

Summer Nicholson Gateway Ambassador

 Nicholson Gateway Ambassadors are the front-line customer service and recruitment staff for the Nicholson Gateway Apartments, and must be friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and customer-service oriented. The team of student ambassadors works with and reports to the Res Life Communications staff to lead all daily tours and operations, special events, and more. 

Summer Resident Assistant (RA)

Summer Resident Assistants live in a residence hall and work as part of a staff team in order to build a positive living and learning environment and community experience for residents. An RA serves as a liaison between the residents of the community and the Department of Residential Life. 

Summer Conference Assistant (CA)

Summer Conference Assistants are the front-line customer service staff for the Department of Residential Life’s Summer Conference operations. A CA assists in servicing the needs of summer conference guests housed in LSU’s residence halls and apartments. Some conference groups include athletic and cheerleading groups, 4-H University, academic groups and freshman orientation.

Summer Res Ed Student Assistant

Summer Residential Life & Education Summer Assistants live on campus and work 40 hours per week as part of a summer staff team. SAs are the front-line customer service staff for the Department of Residential Life’s Summer School operations. An SA assists in the administration, customer service, and programming functions of LSU’s residence halls and apartments used for summer term students.
