Important Game Day & Parking Information
Good afternoon residents,
This Saturday is a home football game for the LSU Tigers. Large crowds and additional traffic are expected to arrive to campus early and remain throughout the evening, so please plan accordingly.
To avoid ticketing, towing, and unnecessary frustration, review this resident-specific information.
LSU Parking & Transportation Services will strictly enforce game day parking lot restrictions, which impacts some parking areas near residence halls and apartments.
For all home football games, residents must relocate vehicles from areas labeled as “Reserved Parking” on the 2019 Football Parking Map, including, but not limited to, Lot 206 behind North and West Halls, to non–restricted parking lots before 6 a.m. on game day. Any vehicles found in restricted areas on Saturday morning will be towed at the owner’s expense.
Review parking information at www.lsusports.net/parking to identify public parking areas, including the large lot adjacent to West Campus Apartments, lots across Aster Street from Spruce Hall, as well as the gravel lot on the corner of Cypress/Aster and West Chimes Street. Parking on the east side of campus is also available.
ONLY Nicholson Gateway residents with the Nicholson Gateway-specific parking permit can park in the resident parking areas at Nicholson Gateway Apartments on home football game days. Nicholson Gateway residents can only enter and exit from West Chimes Street on home football game days.
Nicholson Gateway Apartments residents’ special Nicholson Gateway parking permit (Green, Zone 3, Nicholson Gateway) allows only Nicholson Gateway residents to access the resident parking areas at Nicholson Gateway on home football game days. Nicholson Gateway residents can only enter and exit from West Chimes Street on home football game days.
On-campus residents with resident parking permits (Green, Zone 3), cannot utilize the resident parking area at Nicholson Gateway on home football game days.
Nicholson Gateway resident parking and common areas in white, including the Gateway Garage, are tailgate-free zones. The retail lots and LSU Foundation lots, highlighted in yellow and purple, are reserved for LSU Athletic Department use on home football game days.
The LSU Athletic Department will utilize some parking spaces in the Gateway Garage, but it will remain open for Nicholson Gateway residents too.
RESTRICTED DOOR ACCESS
All Communities: Residents will only be able to access their community through its main entrance from 12 p.m. until 60 minutes after kickoff. During this time frame, all other exterior facing doors will be disabled from the card swipe access system. Do not prop open doors.
The Pentagon Community: The Pentagon Activity Center front doors will be locked from approximately 10 a.m. until 60 minutes after kickoff. Residents will only be able to access the community and Activity Center where the front desk is located through the back gates of the Pentagon Courtyard, near The 5 and Broussard Hall.
We implement door restrictions for each home football game to eliminate non-student traffic in your community space. Please help us with this by not letting anyone into the community that does not swipe their Tiger Card to enter and reporting any suspicious activity to your front desk or RLC.
These restrictions will apply to all home football games. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
