Evangeline Hall Move Update
Hello Horseshoe residents,
Thank you again for your patience while we all waited for the contractors to complete work in Evangeline Hall. As promised, here’s an update on moving into your new LSU home:
Now – Thursday, January 17 – Sign Up for a Moving Time & Prep Boxes
To secure assistance moving boxes from your current room to your new Evangeline Hall room, sign up for an appointment time by Thursday, January 17, 2019.
Spots are first-come, first-serve.
You do not have to be in your room at your appointment time unless you need the moving team to assist with large items, refrigerators or electronics. The moving team is only able to move those items IF you ARE present.
Use these days to prepare items for the move:
- Use the boxes that were given out before the break.
- Boxes must be taped and sealed shut with your last name and Evangeline Hall room number written clearly on the outside of the box.
- Any large items, refrigerators or electronics will only be moved if you are present to accompany the moving team.
- Place items in a clear area in the room so the moving team can easily identify what
you need moved.
Thursday, January 17 – Evangeline Hall Preview Night - 6:30 -8:30 p.m.
Come explore Evangeline Hall, find your room, get your Tiger Card access, see the common spaces, and get your new SRC sweatshirt. We want you to get familiar with the building so the move goes more smoothly. No items can be moved over this day.
Friday, January 18 – Evangeline Hall Move-In Begins
8 a.m. Evangeline Hall
- The building officially opens.
- Horseshoe Community front desk operations move to the Evangeline Hall front desk from
Annie Boyd Hall.

You will have access to both your Highland Hall/Louise Garig Hall room AND your Evangeline Hall room during this time. Complete your move by Tuesday, January 22, 2019.
Tuesday, January 22 at 3 p.m. – Access to Highland and Louise Garig Ends
Highland and Louise Garig Halls close at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. All card access will be removed at this time. Any belongings remaining in the buildings will be discarded and removal fees may be assessed. You will turn in your Louise Garig/Highland Hall room key at the Evangeline Hall front desk.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reply to this email so we can assist. Your in-hall RLC, Kevin Dao, is also a great resource.
As a reminder, the former parking area in front of Annie Boyd Hall, Highland Hall, Louise Garig Hall and Evangeline Hall is fenced off and permanently inaccessible as an active construction site. You can park in any surrounding Resident, Zone 3 lots.
Thank you for your cooperation as we make progress on improving the entire Horseshoe community.
We are so excited to reopen the historic Evangeline Hall and to have you as the first residents.
