President Future Leaders in Research (PFLR)

President’s Future Leaders in Research Program (PFLR)

Offering a unique opportunity to conduct research early in their college career, the President’s Future Leaders in Research (PFLR) program allows students to take part in discovery in any of the 75 programs of study LSU offers.  Students will have the opportunity to work side-by-side with professors in a research setting, such as a laboratory or in the field, and learn what a career in their chosen field may be like.  Once enrolled in the program, they will be partnered with a faculty mentor in a field of their choice.  As a member of their mentor’s research team, they will receive guidance and support that expands their knowledge and skills.  The experience gained from the program will provide life-long benefits.  From co-authoring an article and writing software, to conducting lab experiments and presenting findings, their experiences will provide a firm foundation on which to build future success.  All incoming freshmen who are President’s Alumni Scholars, LSU Alumni Association Top 100 Scholars or Distinguished Freshmen are eligible for PFLR.

Requirements:
