LSU partners with global technology company
Monday, November 13, 2017
Today, Gov. Edwards announced a transformational economic development win for Louisiana and for LSU. DXC, a global information technology services company, announced this afternoon that it is setting up operations in New Orleans. In terms of jobs, this is the state’s largest-ever economic development win.
In selecting a site, DXC weighed the advantages of partnering with LSU, the state’s comprehensive flagship research university. DXC was looking for an innovative partner with a broad portfolio of talented people, and LSU fit that bill. For our students, there will be unmatched educational opportunities, and for our faculty, cutting-edge research opportunities.
While this is a great win for our state, it is also a clear demonstration of LSU’s commitment to build a better Louisiana, consistent with our Strategic Plan. By fulfilling our instructional and research missions, we can have a tremendous economic impact on our state.
I would like to thank DXC for this transformational partnership and welcome them to our state and our campus. We are also grateful to Gov. Edwards and LED Secretary Don Pierson for their efforts to bring DXC to Louisiana. And finally, let me express my gratitude to you, the innovative members of the LSU community, who make LSU a welcoming partner for investments to our great state.
We are excited to work closely with DXC both here at LSU and in New Orleans. I know this collaboration will yield incredible results that truly change the world.
Geaux Tigers, and Geaux DXC!
