Board of Regents Support Fund FY 2016-17 Request for Proposals Released

The Louisiana Board of Regents (BoR) Support Fund Requests for Proposals for FY 2016-17 are now available on the BoR website at

The programs for the FY 2016-17 competition are:

  • RCS
  • RCS one-year (formerly Pfund)
  • ITRS
  • Proof of Concept/Prototype
  • ENH
  • Grad Fellows/SREB

Note that the Pfund is now called the RCS one-year research component.  The RCS one‐year research component provides short term pilot awards for both tenured and tenure‐track faculty.

Proposal deadlines for these programs fall between October 26, 2016, and November 21, 2016.  All programs require a notice of intent (NOI) in LOGAN, with the exception of Traditional and Undergraduate Enhancement Proposals and Traditional Graduate Fellows Subprogram/SREB, with NOI deadlines falling between September 12, 2016, and October 10, 2016.  Therefore, it is important to review eligible disciplines and begin proposal development as soon as possible.

To assist with proposal preparation and submission, LSU’s Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) has created a Board of Regents Support Fund information page at

Please watch this page for additional information such as at-a-glance information sheets containing FY16-17 eligible disciplines, basic program information, as well as budget worksheets customized to automatically calculate fringe benefits, indirect costs and cumulative totals. Guidelines for submitting NOIs will also be included on the OSP website.

In addition, OSP is arranging for the Board of Regents Program Managers to come to LSU for 1:1 meetings with interested faculty on Tues., August 30.  Additional information on the Ask the Program Manager meeting locations and available times will be distributed soon.

If you have any questions, please contact OSP at or call 8-2760.  Upon request, OSP specialists will meet with department/units to present the basic guidelines for each of these programs, and LSU’s procedures for proposal approval and submission. To schedule a department/unit meeting, please contact Michelle Pennington via email at
