NIH Bridges to the Baccalaureate

Welcome to the NIH Bridges to the Baccalaureate Program (“Bridges”) for biomedically-related and behavioral science majors at Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC). 

Begin at BRCC and finish at LSU! Complete a 2-year degree | Associate’s Degree in Biological Sciences or General Science with a biomedical or natural sciences concentration, then… Complete a 4-year degree | Bachelor of Science in a biomedically-related or behavioral sciences field from LSU.

Bridges offers: 

  • Summer Research Program: Opportunities to participate as a paid scholar in a biomedical science or engineering lab at LSU while still enrolled as a student at BRCC
  • BRCC Lunch and Learn Workshop: Get a great start to a STEM career at BRCC in this summer workshop series.  
  • LSU STEM Transfer Student Workshop : Mentoring and a smooth transfer from BRCC to LSU after completion of a BRCC degree
  • Mentoring and tutoring at BRCC
