LSU to Mark Memorial Day at Noon Ceremony

BATON ROUGE – LSU and Cadets of the Ole War Skule will honor former students, faculty and staff as well as all veterans who have given their lives in service to their country on Monday, May 31, at a wreath-laying ceremony at the LSU War Memorial on the Parade Ground.

The 15-minute observance begins at noon and will include a wreath-laying ceremony, “Taps” and a moment of silence. The event is open to the public.

A luncheon for veterans, family members and friends of area veterans, and state, local and university officials at the Club at Union Square (Faculty Club) will follow the ceremony. Retired Maj. Gen. Ron Richard will be the keynote speaker. The cost is $30 per person, and reservations are required.

Reserved parking is available in the Thomas Boyd Hall lot on Tower Drive and in the Union Square Parking Garage, located on East Campus Drive at Veterans Drive.
