LSU REFF Receives Final Proposals for Redevelopment of Charity Hospital in New Orleans

BATON ROUGE – The LSU Real Estate and Facilities Foundation (i.e., the LSU REFF) has received proposals from 1532 Tulane Partners (a partnership between El-Ad US Holdings and CCNO Development LLC) and HRI Properties LLC in response to its May 25, 2018, request for proposals for the adaptive reuse of the former Charity Hospital Building at 1532 Tulane Avenue, adjacent to the LSU Health New Orleans campus.

A third development team, Matthews Southwest, was included in the RFP process but declined to respond due to the unexpected passing of a principal team member last week. The RFP deadline was 10 a.m. today.

Over the next several weeks, in keeping with the rigorous selection process as planned, responses will be reviewed by the LSU Charity Hospital Redevelopment Project Management Committee, which will make a recommendation on the preferred proposal to the LSU REFF. The LSU REFF will then forward its recommendation to the LSU Board of Supervisors for final consideration and action during the Board’s regularly scheduled meeting to be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, at the LSU University Administration Building in Baton Rouge.

Both proposals will be publicly released following the LSU REFF’s selection, prior to the Oct. 4 meeting of the LSU Board of Supervisors.
