RFP Invitations to be Issued for Charity Hospital in New Orleans
BATON ROUGE – The Charity Hospital Project Management Committee, appointed by the LSU Real Estate and Facilities Foundation, or LSU REFF, has selected three highly qualified development teams from the respondents to the LSU REFF’s Request for Qualifications for the adaptive reuse of the former Charity Hospital building at 1532 Tulane Avenue, adjacent to the LSU Health New Orleans campus.
Teams led by 1532 Tulane Partners Inc. (a partnership between El-Ad US Holdings and CCNO Development LLC), HRI Properties LLC and Matthews Southwest will be invited by the LSU REFF, an affiliate of the LSU Foundation, to respond to the subsequent Request for Proposals.
Rob Stuart, chairman of the Charity Hospital Project Management Committee, said, “We are encouraged by the successful conclusion of the RFQ process and eagerly anticipate responses to the RFP. Each step forward puts us closer to the revitalization of this historic asset, which continues to be the focus of this project.”
A request for qualifications, or RFQ, was publicly issued by the LSU REFF on April 16, 2018, with a submission deadline of May 16, 2018. The evaluation of the qualifications packages aimed to identify development teams with the best qualifications, experience, financial capacity and proven track records of executing similar projects, with consideration given to including Disadvantaged Business Enterprises. The submissions represented a range of nationally recognized and local firms with experience developing similar projects. These responses were evaluated by the committee with the LSU REFF’s procurement and real estate advisor, JLL.
