Science Comedian and Communications Expert to Perform March 16


Comedian Brain MalowBATON ROUGE – Spend an evening laughing out loud when science comedian Brian Malow performs his standup routine, “Rational Comedy for an Irrational Planet,” at LSU Union Theater on Thursday, March 16, at 7 p.m. Malow will dispel myths and misconceptions about science, explore the science in science fiction, exercise brains and tickle funny bones. The performance is free and open to the public. 

Malow has appeared on the “Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” co-hosted programs on The Weather Channel and produced science videos for Time Magazine and audio pieces for Neil deGrasse Tyson’s radio show. He has also blogged for Scientific American and worked in science communications at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. He has been featured in the New York Times, the Washington Post, the San Francisco Chronicle, and Nature, Science, and Symmetry magazines.

Before the performance, Malow will give a presentation to LSU faculty about communicating and connecting science to difference audiences, drawing on his 20 years of experience as a science comedian.  The presentation will be held at 3 p.m. in the Hill Memorial Library.
