MEDIA ADVISORY: LSU to Commission Five ROTC Cadets on Dec. 18

BATON ROUGE – Five LSU ROTC cadets will be commissioned at the Fall Commissioning Ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 18, at 2 p.m. in the Woods Auditorium of the Energy, Coast & Environment Building.

Maj. Gen. Augustus L. Collins, commanding general of both the Mississippi Army and Air National Guard, will be the guest speaker. LSU Professor of Military Science Lt. Col. Lawrence P. House will give the commissioning oath of office and provide remarks.    

At the ceremony, five cadets will be commissioned as second lieutenants from the LSU Army ROTC program.

Among those commissioning, two will commission as infantry officers, including one at the Baton Rouge Louisiana Army National Guard; one will commission as active duty in the Transportation Corps; one will serve in the Metairie Louisiana Army National Guard as an aviator; and one will serve in the Baton Rouge Louisiana Army National Guard as a signal corps officer.
