LSU "Union Theater Presents" Announces 2014-15 Season

BATON ROUGE, LA – For its 50th Season, The LSU Student Union Theater is proud to announce the 2014 – 15 Union Theater Presents Series! The series consists of eight magnificent shows that are sure to wow the crowd and keep them coming back for more! Shows include a swashbuckling off-Broadway prequel to an iconic story; a Nun that is sure to bring the crowd to side splitting laughter; a musical exploration of the greatest artists that graced the Soul Genre; a graceful performance of beauty and ballet and much much more!

“I can’t imagine a more exciting or challenging job than selecting the season for LSU Union Theater Presents series!” says Terry Serio, assistant director for the LSU Union Theater. “And I’m very excited to reveal the 2014-15 season.”

ALL ABOARD for this saucy and splendid production of ANYTHING GOES, winner of three 2011 Tony Awards® including Best Musical Revival and Choreography! One of the greatest musicals in theater history, Cole Porter’s first-class musical comedy is sailing to the LSU Student Union Theater, Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014. 


When the S.S. American heads out to sea, etiquette and convention get tossed out the portholes as two unlikely pairs set off on the course to true love…proving that sometimes destiny needs a little help from a crew of singing sailors, an exotic disguise and some good old-fashioned blackmail. From Boston to Baghdad, Tampa to Toronto, The United States Army Field Band has been thrilling audiences of all ages for more than six decades. As the premier touring musical representative for the United States Army, this internationally-acclaimed organization travels thousands of miles each year presenting a variety of music to enthusiastic audiences throughout the nation and abroad. Through these concerts, the Field Band fosters the support of the American people for members of the armed forces and supports diplomatic efforts around the world. 


Although the show will be free and open to the public, we are offering the Director's Circle Members up to four general seating tickets. Please request your FREE tickets when you fill out the UTP 2014-15 season ticket form. There is no charge and seating is on a first come-first seated basis.

Giselle is the tragic tale of a beautiful peasant girl who falls deeply in love with a count disguised as a lowly villager. When Giselle learns of the deceit, she dies from madness, and her spirit joins the ghosts of girls who avenge the evil deeds of men who have betrayed them. The tragic story is ultimately a message of love and forgiveness prevailing in the end.
