Two LSU Graduates to be Commissioned on Aug. 7

BATON ROUGE – Two LSU graduates will be commissioned during the Summer Commissioning Ceremony on Thursday, Aug. 7 at 2 p.m. in the Dalton J. Woods Auditorium in the Energy, Coast and Environment Building. Lt. Col. Thomas C. Friloux, Deputy J-7 for JFHQ-LA, will be the guest speaker.

Both cadets will be commissioned as second lieutenants from the LSU Army ROTC program.

The following is a list of commissionees by hometown:

Kountze, Texas: 2nd Lt. Garrett Lee Templet will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in construction management from the College of Engineering. Templet will branch Armor and attend officer training school in Fort Benning, Ga.

Clearwater, Fla.: 2nd Lt. Kevin Walter Seidel will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in independent study from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences with minors in history, philosophy and professional leadership. Seidel will branch Military Police with the Louisiana Army National Guard. He will attend officer training school in Fort Leonardwood, Mo.
