BATON ROUGE – LSU Executive Education will offer its Economic Development Marketing and Attraction course May 20-21, at the Business Education Complex at LSU, and registration for the course is now open.

According to LSU Executive Education Director Robin Kistler, the Marketing and Attraction course is a core course in the Certified Louisiana Economic Developer certification and utilizes case studies and sample plans to highlight best practices in economic development marketing. Course content includes an overview of economic development marketing, how to establish rationale for target audiences, site selection, winning strategies in economic development marketing, online and digital marketing and branding in economic development.

“Every economic developer is marketing on behalf of his organization and community, regardless of whether his function is specifically marketing,” Kistler said. “This course illustrates how to develop and implement a high-impact marketing and attraction plan that will benefit the entire economic development team.”

Registration for the course and more information about the certification program can be found online at

The CLED program is presented by Executive Education in conjunction with Louisiana Economic Development and the Louisiana Industrial Development Executives Association. The program is sponsored by Southwestern Electric Power Company.
