Flores MBAA Charity Golf Tournament Date Set

01/27/2014 03:49 PM

The Flores MBA Association will host its 14th Annual MBAA Charity Golf Tournament Friday, March 28, beginning at 1 p.m. This year’s event will be held at the Santa Maria Golf Course, located at 18460 Santa Maria Parkway. All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Flores MBAA’s new internship program to help not-for-profit organizations fund internship positions for LSU Flores MBA students.

According to Flores MBAA Special Events Chair Kim Vivian, the new internship program provides students with great opportunities to meet members of the Baton Rouge community and opportunities for students to expand their business acumen in a meaningful way.

“One of our Flores MBA students will be hosted by Provident Resources Group, a non-profit organization that provides funding for community projects, during the summer of 2014,” Vivian said. “Organizations like this are intended to be the beneficiaries of this program.”

Vivian noted that the golf tournament will feature prizes, raffle and auction items and on-course mini games.

For more information regarding sponsorships and monetary or non-monetary donations, or to register for the tournament, contact Vivian at kvivia1@tigers.lsu.edu.

The LSU Flores MBA Association is a graduate-level student organization designed to enhance the MBA experience. Since its inception, the MBAA has served as an effective conduit between students, the community and business leaders from around the globe. The primary goals of the MBAA are to: promote personal and professional growth outside of the classroom setting, nourish a strong, lasting sense of camaraderie between students, develop extensive professional networks to benefit both students and business leaders, and uphold a positive professional image of the LSU Flores MBA Program.
