Start and Finish Your Holiday Shopping with LSU Press and The Southern Review at Season’s Readings

BATON ROUGE – Celebrate the season with LSU Press and The Southern Review at their annual holiday sale, Season’s Readings, in the courtyard of Circa 1857 on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

With more than a dozen local authors signing books, great food and drink from Yvette Marie’s, and live music, Season’s Readings is an enjoyable way to shop locally and find the perfect gift. All LSU Press titles will be at least 35 percent off, all purchases receive free gift wrapping, and there is ample parking.

Authors in attendance include John H. Baron, author of “Concert Life in Nineteenth-Century New Orleans”;  Jinx Coleman Brossard, author of “African American Foreign Correspondents”; J. Michael Desmond, author of “The Architecture of LSU”; author and photographer Philip Gould of Acadiana Ava; Leavell Haymon, author of “Eldest Daughter”; David Huddle, author of “Blacksnake at the Family Reunion”; Laura F. Lindsay, editor of “Treasures of LSU”; Marybeth Lima, author of “Building Playgrounds, Engaging Communities;” photographer C. C. Lockwood of Atchafalaya; Mary H. In addition, The Southern Review will be offering discounted subscriptions and selling copies of its current issue, as well as back issues.

Many other LSU Press titles – including classics like “A Confederacy of Dunces” and Fonville Winans’ “Louisiana,” as well as new releases such as Helena Brigman’s “The Fresh Table” and David G. Baker’s “Mike the Tiger” – will also be available for sale, all at a significant discount.
